Community Education Winter Boys Basketball Challenge

Are you ready for a basketball challenge this winter. Boys in grades 6-8 are invited to sign up the winter league. Simply go online to bedford.ce.eleyo.com to register. Space is limited so don’t wait! The deadline to register is December 16th. 

Winter Boys Basketball for Grades 4-12.

Registration is open for the Winter Boys Basketball Leagues for grades 4-12. Register online at bedford.ce.eleyo.com or stop in the Community Ed office, 1135 Smith Road. High school students may register as a team but must turn in payment as a team. Grades 4-8 may list one friend/family member (both must match to be honored). DEADLINE to register for this league is December 16th. (flyer attached)

Random Acts of Kindness has started in Room #25. Consider joining us if you have some creative and fun ideas on how to spread some kindness around our school and community! “RAK” Club will meet every other Wednesday until 3:30PM, so be sure you have a ride home. See flyers around the school for dates and email or see Ms. O’Neill in the counseling office if you have any questions.

GAME CLUB

Think about the most awesome thing that you have ever done! Now imagine yourself at Game Club, and I am sure that those two events were very similar. Game Club kicks off this week in the media center. You can come by yourself and meet new people or you can bring a friend as well! It is a relaxed environment to make new friends and try out some new games and have fun with the classics too, there are so many options to choose from. A slight correction to the flier game club this week will not be on Thursday, like the posters say, as that is the back to school dance. Instead we will be meeting on Wednesday from 2:30-4. I can’t wait to see you there.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Bedford 7th grade basketball lost it’s first game of the season falling to Ypsilanti 24-18. Luke W. and Henry A. led on offense. AJ V. and Jaxson L. led the defense.

Bedford 8th grade basketball played its best game of the season taking down the Grizzlies of Ypsilanti 37-16.  Evan G. had a great floor game.  Cashton S. and Jackson H. led the scoring.  Jack B. also played well.

✔ REMINDERS TO STUDENTS 

8th HOUR

8th Hour has started in room 214.  8th hour is an opportunity to get work done and get assistance from some teachers.  8th Hour is three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays) from 2:30PM to 3:30PM.  Students can attend 1, 2, or all 3 days.  Attendance is kept in the room.  Families MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN RIDE HOME AT 3:30.

We are working on supplying transportation and will let families know when that is available.

If you are having a student make up some assessment, please deliver directly to Amanda Mitchell.

All students must carry an approved pass from an administrator or teacher to be in the halls during class time.  This applies to student council members, yearbook students, students with early dismissal, and any student who finds it necessary to enter the halls during class time.

EARLY DROP OFF

LOCKERS

Please make sure your bookbags are all the way in your lockers before you close them. We have had numerous jams.

Remember to charge your Chromebook. If something is wrong with your Charger, please bring it to the Media Center and enter a ticket.

ROBOTICS

The Bionic Broncos and the Turning Gears will be attending the Michigan FTC State Championship-SE on December 9 & 10, 2022

The other 3 teams still have the opportunity to advance to the state competition at state qualifier events coming up in the next few weeks.

Classical Engineers will be attending the MI Troy FTC Qualifier on December 3, 2022.

F.L.A.G. will be at Kettering University, December 10, 2022.

Bedford 7th grade basketball team defeated Jackson 30-22. Gabe Rarrick and Kyle Stark played well. 

Bedford 8th grade basketball survived a tough and physical game against Jackson 23-22.  Down 1 point with 7.9 seconds left in the game, Corbin M. drained two free throws to win the game.  Prior free throws by Miller and Cashton S. along with solid play by Alex M. helped in the win.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Bedford 7th grade basketball team won a doubleheader against Saline Saturday. Dylan S. and Dylan S. led the way in the first game as Bedford won 38-21. In the second game Bedford made five of six free throws to close out a tight game 33-29. Chase A. and AJ V. had strong games in the victory.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Bedford 7th grade basketball team defeated Ypsilanti Lincoln 21-7. Defense led the team tonight. Drew B. led the offense and Dylan S. led in rebounding.

Bedford 8th grade had a well balanced offensive attack with 11 players scoring and taking down the Railsplitters of Ypsilanti Lincoln 26-14.  The offense was led by Cashton S. and Keagan D.  Jack F. hit a huge 3 pointer and Jack B. played well on both ends of the court.

BASKETBALL

Fourteen boys scored for the Bedford 7th grade basketball team while defeating Pinckney 32-11. Jackson L. and Henry A. led the way on offense while Luke W. and Nolan G. led the defense. 

Bedford 8th grade boys basketball started fast and finished strong defeating Pinckney 43-10.  Cashton S. and Keagan D. led the scoring.  Alex M. led the rebounding and Gabe A. was great in transition.  Jackson H. and Hussein S. also played well.

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS CLUB

Random Acts of Kindness will be started in Room #25. Consider joining us if you have some creative and fun ideas on how to spread some kindness around our school and community! “RAK” Club will meet every other Wednesday until 3:30PM, so be sure you have a ride home. See flyers around the school for dates and email or see Ms. O’Neill in the counseling office if you have any questions.

GAME CLUB

Think about the most awesome thing that you have ever done! Now imagine yourself at Game Club, and I am sure that those two events were very similar. Game Club kicks off this week in the media center. You can come by yourself and meet new people or you can bring a friend as well! It is a relaxed environment to make new friends and try out some new games and have fun with the classics too, there are so many options to choose from. A slight correction to the flier game club this week will not be on Thursday, like the posters say, as that is the back to school dance. Instead we will be meeting on Wednesday from 2:30-4. I can’t wait to see you there.

8th HOUR

8th Hour has started in room 214.  8th hour is an opportunity to get work done and get assistance from some teachers.  8th Hour is three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays) from 2:30PM to 3:30PM.  Students can attend 1, 2, or all 3 days.  Attendance is kept in the room.  Families MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN RIDE HOME AT 3:30.

We are working on supplying transportation and will let families know when that is available.

If you are having a student make up some assessment, please deliver directly to Amanda Mitchell.

HALL PASSES

All students must carry an approved pass from an administrator or teacher to be in the halls during class time.  This applies to student council members, yearbook students, students with early dismissal, and any student who finds it necessary to enter the halls during class time.

EARLY DROP OFF

Students must remain in the cafe until 7AM if they are getting dropped off early.

LOCKERS

Please make sure your bookbags are all the way in your lockers before you close them. We have had numerous jams.

CHROMEBOOK CHARGERS

Remember to charge your Chromebook. If something is wrong with your Charger, please bring it to the Media Center and enter a ticket.

CHROMEBOOKS

Attention Students:

Do not leave your chromebook unattended outside classrooms. You are responsible for the care of the chromebook that is issued to you and insurance will not cover negligence. Students that leave their chromebooks unattended can pick up their chromebook and their after school PENALTY HALL from Mr. Hurley.
