Girls Get-IT Day at Wayne County Commnity College

GET-IT Day is a free interactive technology field trip for female students in grades 4-8. The event introduces students to and educates them about different technologies and/or tech concepts in a practical, hands-on environment.

March 27-29, 2023

Techathon AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a 3-day camp for students grades 4-11. In this hands-on camp, students will get hands-on learning of Artificial Intelligence tools that use image 

recognition and motion detection to make decisions. Participants will be able to create devices such as ripe fruit sorter, selective door opener, or an attendance device. This event is sponsored by Eastern Michigan University.

Volleyball Leagues Forming

Registration is open for the grade 6-8 volleyball league through Community Ed. Join the fun and chase those winter blues away. Register at bedford.ce.eleyo.com. Deadline to register is March 3rd. 

Spring Leagues

Registration for cross country, soccer and t-ball will open on March 1st. Deadline for registration is April 7 for Soccer and June 2nd for T-ball. Online registration at bedford.ce.eleyo.com

Mom & Son Glow Bowling

This event will be held on May 20th at ForestView Lanes for boys in grade K-5 and their moms, grandmas, aunts, etc. Deadline for tickets is May 10th.

Safety Town, Summer Parks and Summer Latchkey registration will open soon. Look for details in the coming weeks.

3B Baseball 

Spring registration is now open for 3B co-ed little league baseball, ages 5-18. Register now through 2/28/23 to secure a spot on a team.  For more information click on the 2023 3B Baseball Registration Flyer link or go to the website at 3bbaseball.org.

The Spring/Summer Brochure will be out about March 1st. It lists a lot of fun new programs such as kayaking, sailing for adults, art classes and more. The brochure will be on the District website or go to bedford.ce.eleyo.com.

Random Acts of Kindness has started in Room #25. Consider joining us if you have some creative and fun ideas on how to spread some kindness around our school and community! “RAK” Club will meet every other Wednesday until 3:30PM, so be sure you have a ride home. See flyers around the school for dates and email or see Ms. O’Neill in the counseling office if you have any questions.

Think about the most awesome thing that you have ever done! Now imagine yourself at Game Club, and I am sure that those two events were very similar. You can come by yourself and meet new people or you can bring a friend as well! It is a relaxed environment to make new friends and try out some new games and have fun with the classics too, there are so many options to choose from.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bedford 7th grade girls lost their first game of the season to Saline 24-7.

Bedford 8th grade girls got a come from behind win against Saline 22-18. Paige B. had some clutch free throws and Anna G. hit the go ahead 3 pointer to help Bedford out score Saline 9-0 to close out the game. Trinetee G. played well on defense.

Remember to charge your Chromebook at night. If something is wrong with your Charger or Chromebook, please bring it to the Media Center and enter a ticket.

CHROMEBOOKS

Do not leave your chromebook unattended outside classrooms. You are responsible for the care of the chromebook that is issued to you and insurance will not cover negligence. Students that leave their chromebooks unattended can pick up their chromebook and their after school PENALTY HALL from Mr. Hurley.

EARLY DROP OFF

Students must remain in the cafe until 7AM if they are getting dropped off early.

HALL PASSES

All students must carry an approved pass from an administrator or teacher to be in the halls during class time.  This applies to student council members, yearbook students, students with early dismissal, and any student who finds it necessary to enter the halls during class time.

HALLWAYS/CLASSROOMS

Only water is allowed in classrooms. Pop, colored drinks, etc. are not allowed.

Students should not have these types of drinks in the halls either; please toss them if they can’t be closed again or close them and put them in your lockers.

LOCKERS

Please make sure your bookbags are all the way in your lockers before you close them. We have had numerous jams.

SPORTING EVENTS

Remember, no K-8th grade students are allowed in BJHS games without a parent to supervise them through the game. We have a home basketball game today. If you plan on attending, be sure to have your parent here with you. You will not be able to hang out in the school and wait for the game either. All students will go home and then return at game time.

Bedford 8th grade girls basketball team defeated Ypsilanti Lincoln 25-15. Joslyn M. and Jaye B. led the offense with 8 points each. Iva R. had a good floor game.

On a night when the offense struggled to score great defense led to the Bedford 7th grade girls victory over Dexter 12-6.  Kinzi B. led the scoring along with making some key free throws down the stretch.  Sophia S. and Madilyn K. also played well.

Students should not have these types of drinks in the halls either; please toss them if they can’t be closed again or close them and put them in your lockers.

Please make sure your bookbags are all the way in your lockers before you close them. We have had numerous jams.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bedford 7th grade girls used a balanced scoring attack and great defense to defeat Ypsilanti 24-6.  8 different players scored led by Madilyn K. and Kinzi B.  Lilly V., Helen B. and Teagan D. also played well.  

Bedford 8th grade girls basketball team over came a sluggish first half to defeat Ypsilanti 28-13. Anna Gray and Miranda Fulop hit some big 3 pointers to pull ahead. The team improved to 9-3.

Bedford 7th grade girls won two games on Saturday against Adrian 21-7 and Dexter 34-6. Kinzi B. led the scoring in both games.  Mackenzie K. made 2 big buckets as Madilyn K. also played well in the first game.  Sophia S. had a good floor game in the second game as Lexie M., Brianna P. and Addison H. each played well.

Bedford 8th grade girls won a double header Saturday defeating Adrian 32-5. Iva R., Delaney K. and Alivia M. led a great defensive team performance. Defense led the second game also as Bedford defeated Monroe 23-6. Paige B. and Journey G. forced Monroe into 20 turnovers. Anna G. led with 10 steals.

Tonight is our Semi Formal Valentines Day Party. Wrist Bands are on sale during lunches and at the door for $5.00 We have an obstacle course in the gym, a photo booth for pictures, music & a Donut Food truck from 6-8PM with all kinds of toppings.

Don’t miss the next biggest party of the year!

8th Grade Students: A reminder to look over your Freshman Course Request Cards with your family over. Cards are due today in your ELA class. If you need help or have any questions, you can email your high school counselor or email Ms. O’Neill or Mr. Majewski to make an appointment.

Bedford Virtual Academy
We will also be offering Bedford Virtual Academy courses for those interested in online school. Bedford Virtual School will be an online opportunity for students to complete their coursework at home. Students will be offered core classes and electives through the Edgenuity Platform. Students that are part of the virtual school may participate in BPS extra-curricular activities after school. Students may request more information through the registration process.

GAME CLUB

Think about the most awesome thing that you have ever done! Now imagine yourself at Game Club, and I am sure that those two events were very similar. You can come by yourself and meet new people or you can bring a friend as well! It is a relaxed environment to make new friends and try out some new games and have fun with the classics too, there are so many options to choose from.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bedford 7th grade girls overcame a sluggish start and finished strong defeating Pinckney 20-6.  Kinzi B. and Sophia S. led the scoring.  Helen B., Madilyn K. and Gracie Z. also played well.

Jaye B. had a hot first quarter scoring seven straight points as Bedford 8th grade girls defeated Pinckney 19-14. Paige B. played well on defense.

HALL PASSES

All students must carry an approved pass from an administrator or teacher to be in the halls during class time.  This applies to student council members, yearbook students, students with early dismissal, and any student who finds it necessary to enter the halls during class time.

CHROMEBOOK/CHARGERS

Remember to charge your Chromebook at night. If something is wrong with your Charger or Chromebook, please bring it to the Media Center and enter a ticket.

CHROMEBOOKS

Do not leave your chromebook unattended outside classrooms. You are responsible for the care of the chromebook that is issued to you and insurance will not cover negligence. Students that leave their chromebooks unattended can pick up their chromebook and their after school PENALTY HALL from Mr. Hurley.

HALLWAYS/CLASSROOMS

Only water is allowed in classrooms. Pop, colored drinks, etc. are not allowed.

Students should not have these types of drinks in the halls either; please toss them if they can’t be closed again or close them and put them in your lockers.

EARLY DROP OFF

Students must remain in the cafe until 7AM if they are getting dropped off early.

LOCKERS

Please make sure your bookbags are all the way in your lockers before you close them. We have had numerous jams.
