COAT DRIVE
The National Junior Honor Society at BJHS is having a coat drive beginning December 1st, running until December 15th. If you have any coats that are slightly loved, but no longer fit, or you no longer wear them, please consider donating them to our Coat Drive. We will take coats of all sizes. The coats can be brought to room #223. They can be placed in the plastic bin on the table outside of the room. Thank you for supporting our coat drive.
FOOD DRIVE
Our Food Drive is going on. Turn your non perishable items (no glass) into your 1st hour teacher. The class with the most items donated gets a breakfast from Mr. Lopinski. The Food Drive will run through December 7th. LET THE COMPETITION BEGIN!!

Wish an 8th Grader Bon Voyage
This year, for eighth graders only, there will be a section in the Bedford Junior High School yearbook where parents can wish their 8th grader luck on their new adventure to high school. If you would like to wish your son or daughter good luck as they move into high school, go to www.yearbookforever.com to create a Recognition ad to pay by credit or debit card. $15 through Feb. 26 ($0.45 service fee applies) The last day to purchase a Bon Voyage message is Feb. 26 or until space is filled. Along with the message, the students portrait ID photo will be used for photo.

Bedford Lacrosse Association is excited to announce the formation of a brand new U12 (5th and 6th grade boys Lacrosse team). Join us for an informational meeting, Wednesday 12/6 5:30-6:30pm in the Bedford Junior High Cafeteria. Meet the coaches and learn about the sport of Lacrosse!
Spring Lacrosse runs March 11th through May 18th with tournament games on the following dates: April 13 or 14, April 21st, April 27th, May 5th, May 19th, possibly May 12th

BASKETBALL
Defense led the way in Bedford’s 7th grade basketball 21-9 victory over Dexter. Youssif J. and Jackson Z. played well on defense. Ali S. had a good floor game.
Bedford 8th grade lost to Dexter 15-13.

Winter Boys Basketball League. Registration for the Boys Basketball League for students in grades 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 will run from December 1-21st. Students in grades 9-12 can submit as a team. The league will begin in January. Register at bedford.ce.eleyo.com
Save the Date: February 10 is the annual Daddy Daughter Dance for grades K-8. High school students are encouraged to volunteer to assist for service hours.

Winter classes and programs will be coming soon.The 2024 Winter Brochure will be coming out in mid-December and will be filled with new programs and classes for all ages. Look for it online in the Community Ed tab on the District Website or at bedford.ce.eleyo.com

CHROMEBOOKS
- We have a rise in Chromebook vandalism and Chromebook misuse. Please remember these are property of the school and are assigned to you, not given to you. If you cause damage of any sort to your Chromebook, it will result in a range of penalty hall to in school suspension with the possibility of restitution.
- Do not leave your chromebook unattended outside classrooms. You are responsible for the care of the chromebook that is issued to you and insurance will not cover negligence. Students that leave their chromebooks unattended can pick up their chromebook and their after school PENALTY HALL from Mr. Hurley.
- Students, please make sure you are entering a Helpdesk Ticket before you come to the Media Center with a Chromebook issue. The Helpdesk Ticket App is located within Clever.
- Remember to charge your Chromebook at night. If something is wrong with your Charger or Chromebook, please bring it to the Media Center and enter a ticket.
STUDENT DROP OFF
Parents need to drop you off in the mornings in the back of the building only. No students are allowed to be dropped off at the front of the school for any reason.
EARLY DROP OFF
Students must remain in the cafe until 7AM if they are getting dropped off early.
EXITING THE BUILDING
Students – if you are leaving the building early for an appointment, please bring your note to the Main Office first thing in the morning. The office will make a copy of your note – you will show it to your teacher and come to the office to meet your parent. They will not need to come inside to pick you up.
HALL PASSES
All students must carry an approved pass from an administrator or teacher to be in the halls during class time. This applies to student council members, yearbook students, students with early dismissal, and any student who finds it necessary to enter the halls during class time.
HALLWAYS/CLASSROOMS
Only water is allowed in classrooms. Pop, colored drinks, etc. are not allowed.
Students should not have these types of drinks in the halls either; please toss them if they can’t be closed again or close them and put them in your lockers.
LOCKERS
Please make sure your bookbags are all the way in your lockers before you close them. We have had numerous jams.
STAYING AFTER SCHOOL
Students that have evening practice or games are not allowed to stay at school until your events starts. Students can return to their sporting events with a parent or guardian at the called for time.
